Getting closer and closer to the end of the list and now We're looking at the top 10. Anyone I can see at 8 or higher after this point.
9. Wilt Chamberlain
33.7 IA PTS/100 (34.4 to 26.4 PO PPG, 39.6 to 32.8 from 60-66)
62.8 IA TS% (61.3 PO)
+5.4 rTS
51.4 FT% (12.8 FTA/G)
Wilt has one of the weirdest careers in NBA history and especially as a scorer. I might have to write an entirely separate article on his career and as a scorer. Wilt Had 2 traits that stayed with him no matter what phase of his career he was in, That being Efficiency and a PO Drop. His drop was the most apparent with the Warriors and the least apparent with the 76ers. Wilt has very flashy ppg numbers in his early years that makes casuals think he was an outlier scorer when he has inflated scoring volume due to The amount of possessions he was playing and because he was a black hole who took the majority of the teams shots where as most Great scorers combine scoring with passing. Wilt is still a legendary playmaker just not as amazing as his Gaudy box score would make it out. For his bag he didn't have a super deep one. He would position him self on the left block and would from there either shoot a fadeaway or try and get to the rim and dunk. he was also great in second chance opportunities. Gravity wise he drew a lot of defensive attention which i do partially think was inflated by His unwillingness to pass. teams knew they could double and he would still be likely to try and score.
8. Jerry West (62-73)
33.5 IA PTS/100 (28.2 to 29.8 PO PPG)
64 IA TS% (62.6 PO)
+6.5 rTS
82.2 FT% (9.9 FTA/G)
West Is one of the best PO scorers of all time and is most known for his stupidly high PO ppg numbers in the mid and late 70s including 40.6 ppg on +4.7 rTS on a FINALS RUN and then 34.2 ppg on +8.3 rTS the next year en route to ANOTHER FINALS RUN. That is some MJ shit right there. He was always hyper efficient thanks to his Jump Shooting ability. Jerry West was easily the best shooter in the NBA in the 60s and this gave him immense gravity. Teams would have to start focusing in on him 20+ feet deep when most defense wouldn't have to start pressuring a player until around 10 feet. West also had a great bag for the 60s with his signature move being a pullup jumper that would be either a deep 2 or a 3. West's Volume looks worse due to era but it was very high for the 60s although still not comparable to The highest volume scorers like say Kobe Bryant.
7. Dirk Nowitzki (01-14)
35.2 IA PTS/100 (34.5 PO)
62.1 IA TS% (61.7 PO)
+5.3 rTS
38.7 3pt% (4.7 3s/100)
88.3 FT% (9.4 FTA/100)
Dirk was a revolutionary Player as a big that played off ball and could shoot better than most players in the league. Dirk is known for his ability to shoot 3s and stretch the floor like no one else which played a huge part in Dallas having ATG Offenses with him in the 00s including the best Offense of all time in 2004 with a rORTG of 9.2. Dirk also has his signature move the one legged fade. Dirk was never a super high volume scorer outside of a few years in the mid to late 00s. He was always a very efficient scorer and had high gravity due to his 3pt shooting. In his peak he had a very big PO drop but his rs scoring was amazing. from 03-07 he averaged 36.3 IA PTS/100 on 62.3 IA TS%.
