Today in The Greatest Scorers series We are entering the Top 15 of the GOAT Scorers list. This features some of the best PLAYERS ever not just scorers
15. Karl Malone (88-01)
37.8 IA PTS/100 (36 PO)
62.6 IA TS% (56.5 PO)
+5.7 rTS
75.5 TS% (13.1 FTA/100)
Karl Malone is a player That has a very interesting Career from a scoring perspective. As he got older he developed a better bag but he always constantly had high gravity. in his early days he had super high gravity but one of the worst shot selections in NBA History. He loved the post fade from the block and it was very predictable. He would constantly have possessions where he would take the same shot 3 times in a row get blocked and Get the ORB. As He got older his shot selection improved and he did as well. From 94-01 he averaged 38.9 IA PTS/100 on 62.5 IA TS% (37.5 on 55.4 in the PO). He always had a PO Drop but as he got older it got smaller. There are a few reasons you can pin as to why KM Never was a PO Riser and the popular reason is Jerry Sloan having a very predictable System that doesn't translate to the Playoffs.
14. Hakeem Olajuwon (86-97)
32.7 IA PTS/100 (35 PO)
58.7 IA TS% (60.6 PO)
+2.1 rTS
72.5 FT% (9 FTA/100)
Hakeem has elite longevity Bag Gravity Peak Etc. He really only lacks what we see in The scorers profile. His volume and Efficiency for his entire prime is just not good enough to be top 12 or to be above my 13, Although he's one of the biggest PO Risers ever and has a top 12ish(?) peak.
13. Dwyane Wade (05-12)
38.3 IA PTS/100 (36.2 PO)
59.8 IA TS% (59.7 PO)
+3.1 rTS
29.1 3pt% (2.8 3s/100)
77.1 FT% (13.1 FTA/100)
Wade is another player with a great bag and high Mid range/ High Post gravity. Wade Has a fringe top 10 Peak ever but he, Like Bob McAdoo got wrecked with Injuries. Wade averaged 40.2 IA PTS/100 on 59.5 IA TS% from 09-11 including 38.3 on 61 IA TS% in the PO. Wade Is one of the best post guards ever and has all time Footwork.
